There is a misconception by some that people residing in the South are backwoods, uneducated hicks. To that I simply say, not true.

Southernerds was created to champion and promote the pursuit of knowledge by those in the South. Instead of ridiculing geeks and nerds, the interest in learning they possess should be congratulated and fostered.

Let's be clear, knowledge can come in a multitude of forms. From comic books to sports, science to video games, movies to mechanics; there should be no limit to learning.

There's more to the South than you think.
